Anti-ragging

Anti-ragging refers to the measures and policies implemented to prevent any form of physical or psychological abuse, harassment, or humiliation of new students by seniors in educational institutions. It is a serious offense that violates the rights and dignity of individuals strict laws and guidelines have been established by authorities like the UGC and AICTE to ensure a safe and respectful environment on campus. Colleges conduct awareness programs, establish anti-ragging committees and provide helpline numbers to support students. The aim is to promote harmony, mutual respect and a positive academic atmosphere where all students feel secure and valued.

Anti-Ragging Squad

Anti-Ragging Squad is a dedicated group formed within educational institutions to prevent and address incidents of ragging in campus. This squad operates under the guidelines laid down by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and functions as a proactive and vigilant body. It consists of faculty members, staff, and sometimes senior students who are trained to identify and respond to any signs of ragging, both inside and outside the campus premises, including hostels, canteens, classrooms, and common areas. The squad conducts surprise checks, maintains continuous surveillance, and ensures immediate action is taken against any reported incident. Its main objective is to create a ragging-free, safe and supportive environment for all students, especially newcomers.
