Department of Mechanical Engineering
Department Mechanical Engineering
Overview
Mechanical Engineering is perhaps the most diverse and versatile branch of the engineering disciplines. It encompasses key elements of aerospace, automotive, thermal, robotics, energy systems, materials and manufacturing engineering. It touches virtually every aspect of modern human life.
The Mechanical Engineering Department at CDGI strives to impart quality education to its students through well equipped laboratories, best infrastructure facilities and highly motivated faculty staff in the central India. The department has evolved over time to keep up with the ever-increasing challenges in the technological development, while maintaining a strong base in the fundamental aspects of Mechanical Engineering. The students in the department are exposed to the problems faced by today’s societies and are trained to address those problems through innovative thinking to develop appropriate technological solutions. The faculty members of the department drive these activities through their teaching and diverse research programs, covering numerous facets of Mechanical Engineering Science and Applications.
Why Mechanical Engineering at CDGI?

Student Societies
Active participation in SAE India and ISHRAE for holistic professional development.
The department has following student chapters of international societies:

Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), India
SAEINDIA is India's leading resource for mobility technology. As an individual member-driven society of mobility practitioners, the ownership of SAEINDIA rests with its members who are individuals from the mobility community, which includes Engineers Executives from Industry, Government Officials, Academicians and Students. SAE INDIA organizes different events such as BAJA, EFFICYCLE, SUPRA etc to encourage active participation of students from different streams of Engineering pan India.

Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE)
The Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), was founded in 1981 at New Delhi by a group of eminent HVAC&R professionals. ISHRAE today has more than 28,780 HVAC&R professionals and Student-members. ISHRAE operates from 41 Chapters and sub Chapters spread all over India, with HQ in Delhi. It is led by a team of elected officers, who are members of the Society, working on a voluntary basis, and collectively called the Board of Governors.
